lewmur Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Win7 'showstopper' bug fails to materializehttp://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/43547/140/ This is a quote from the article:we tried to replicate the fault on two machines and failed to find any problem at all,So, because they couldn't replicate the problem on two, count'm, two machines, then the bug must not exist? :hysterical:Actually, I think both articles are way off base. I doubt the flaw is anywhere close to being a "showstopper," but, OTOH, it does exist and it can be serious. Edited August 7, 2009 by lewmur Quote

crp Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Chkdsk Bug Anything But a Showstopperhttp://www.osnews.com/story/21964/Chkdsk_B...t_a_Showstopper maybe not a "showstopper" but definitely serious.Keep in mind that the same process takes magnitude of a shorter time in prior OS. At issue is whether the problem is with the chkdsk program or an underlying fault in the file system structure. Quote
tommyj12 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I have reproduced it on two different machines and I was still able to do minor tasks while it was running but it does use most of your ram. I read this was by design to get the task done faster but I doubt it. Not a show stopper by any means, and something that would rarely be used while the os is active, but instead on next boot. MS will most likely do something about it with a patch thou. Quote
