Rons
In the last issue of the Langalist - Fred provided a link to Gibsons site for a freeware program that can completely disable DCOM - which seems to be where most hackers use buffer overflow to exploit Windows.Has anyone tried this yet? I used it on my test computer and have not noticed any ill effects as of yet. http://grc.com/dcom
Guest LilBambi
Yes, I checked for vulnerability and it said both my computers were protected already, so I didn't need to run it. Apparently my firewall is taking care of that.Steve Gibson has many great tools and they can be found here: http://grc.com/default.htm
