I am looking for suggestions in regard to burning software that doesn't require .NET framework. Supposedly, there is currently some conflicts in using .NET framework with Windows XP SP3??Until these issues are resolved I would like to use a quality burning tool and perhaps othershave tested a number of choices? Thanks

In the freeware category, I would suggest ImgBurn. Otherwise, my money is on Nero. I'm still using version 6.6 and have no desire or need to pay for an upgrade. It's been working great.

I've used DeepBurner with success on XP SP3.

I know you don't want a .NET app, but CD Burner XP has never given me any problems in Windows XP with SP3.

Peachy,What version of .NET framework are you using with Windows XP SP3? I understand there wereissues with version 3.5 and not just with SP3. ThanksStriker, Ed_P, TushmanThanks for the suggestions. I'll have to test out these programs to determine the best fit.

It depends. I usually have .NET 2.0 installed, sometimes 3.0. What issues does .NET cause in your experience? Is it specifically with the current burning app you are using or other applications?

Burning software is a very vague term. What are your burning needs?

v2.x of .NET didn't gave me any problems, but 3.5 did... with its familypack or something like that, and it installed an extension for Firefox without asking. There's a way to do this without asking and without FF blocking it: they did that. And afterwards, just try to get rid of that extension... There are ways and one of it I seem to remember I posted here at the forums. Imo: if you don't need that piece of 3.5 .NET, leave it where it is: at Microsofts servers and don't touch it, not even with a ten feet pole.
