Hi Colin, With XP on my Acer notebook, virtually all my hardware drivers needed to be installed from storage after installing XP including my NIC card and wireless drivers before I could even go on line and activate XP.Not so with Win 7 after install I had full internet access both wired and wireless. All but two of my hardware items were installed and working after install. The two items not installed with Win 7 were installed when Windows performed it's first update right after the first boot to a usable desktop. These items were my video driver (ATi Mobility Radeon x1400) and my Logitech Quick Cam 9000 web cam.Even so the display operated in VGA mode until the ATi drivers were installed and the camera was functional but with reduced capability until the update.I did have to locate the latest Texas Instruments drivers for my PCMCIA subsystem and my Texas Instruments on board SD card reader. But this wasn't critical to operations. If you need these TI drivers I can upload them to "You Send It" for you to D/L.Do you plan on a dual boot?Do you have XP already installed? If yes to both create an empty NTFS partition at least 20-25 GB to install to. Win 7 will create a dual boot menu for you automagicaly.

I agree that seems to be fine for most things. I don't know if I would game on it. As far as the restore CD/DVD on your Mat sushi ta (aka Panasonic) CD/DVD combo. That is par for the course from what I can tell. I had to make a set for my Dad's Lappy a few months ago. His came with a foldout "How-to" and the power supply and that was all that was in the box.
