DarkSerge Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I'm curious. What happens if you run out of drive letters? What does one do when you have so many drives that there are no letters? (It can happen, at work all of our drives are shared over the network, and some computers might only have one or two drive letters unused.) Quote

zlim Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Scratch my first idea (I thought you could use double letters like AA; clearly my recollection about reading that somewhere is mistaken).I did find this It is not possible to have more than 26 mounted drives. If access to more filesystems than this is required, Volume Mount Points must be used.Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drive_letter_assignment Edited November 24, 2008 by zlim Quote
DarkSerge Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Interesting. It's not a problem I think I'll have to deal with anytime soon, but just a random thought that came to mind. Plus, it's always good to know in case someday someone asks me. Quote
