zlim Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) I don't have Adobe Reader installed any more. I've switched to Foxit. You an either grab an old version of Adobe here http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=acrobator check out how to install foxit on a pendrive and see if that will read the old pdf. http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1041I'd contact Adobe because you might not be the only person with old pdfs and either need a way to convert them to a newer version or fix the reader so it works on v1 pdf files. redmaledeer Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 In addition to Foxit there is also the Sumatra pdf reader, which might be worth a try (blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf). Lightweight (approx. 1 Meg), not too many features, but enough for me. Quote
crp Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 We can not tell our customers that they need to install a different program just to view our pdf files. Our app that creates the pdf file is "ancient" and orphaned, but the business is such that if we can not getReader9 to read the 1.0 version files, we would need to spend big bucks to re-engineer Quote
striker Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 You're using the full blown suite of adobe to create the pdfs?Try OpenOffice Writer to open the documents made (assuming we're talking .doc or .docx here) and let it save the document again as pdf.IIRC it should be readable without any problems now with adobe reader.
