goretsky Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Hello,I have not used it on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, but NovaStor's NovaBackup works well under Windows Vista Ultimate Edition for backing up to 4mm DAT DDS-3 tape and DVD-RAM disc drives.Regards,Aryeh Goretsky Quote

The best of the breed still seems to be v.10, according to several reviews on the net and a forum on Wilders. If you're talking about Acronis True Image - then yes I agree that both versions 8 and 10 are really good. I've tried every version since 6 upto version 11. (Have not tried the '09 version yet) and version 8 was my favorite until 10 came out. Both have performed reliably and offer good compression ratios. Of course, v10 offers several more features than v8, but honestly, I don't think the average user would miss it much.I've also used Norton Ghost (back in 1999) and liked it pretty good. Haven't had any compelling reason to switch from Acronis to Ghost -- it's been pretty rock solid for me. As far as what works best for Vista, I haven't switched to Vista, but I seem to recall some problems with a recent version of Ghost not working out so well for Vista users. I think they worked out a lot of those bugs with v14 (2009), but that's just what I have heard from talking with other fellow techs so I have no hard evidence of it.
