jrock
I have a 6yr old machine that I bought from one of those random computer shops. It's a great machine - blows away my 2yr old Dell on some apps.I want to soup up the RAM, but I have no idea how far I can go. It only has 512 now, I know I can go to a 1GB because it was an option at the time of purchase, but it was too expensive.I have a report from Belarc Advisor, but I don't think that's going to help me here. Any advice?
Guest LilBambi
What is the motherboard on the system? You would need that. You could also try going to crucial.com and let it scan your computer to see what memory it suggests.
zlim
Here's the link to scan your computerhttp://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/You don't need to purchase the memory from them (crucial is good memory). If you decide to buy it elsewhere, at least you'll know exactly what you need.
b2cm
Run Everest on your machine, and post here the report for Motherboard, SPD and Chipset.
