lewmur
I have a built-in Broadcom 4318 wireless card in my notebook and am trying to get it working in the latest version of PCLos. The Hardware Manager sees the card but when I run the config app and choose the ndiswrapper and point to the Windows driver, /mnt/win_c/windows/system32/drivers/bcmwl5.sys, I get an error message saying there is no supported device for that driver. What am I doing wrong?
Bruno
Hi LewActually you need Julia to help you with this . . . . but you can start with trying to copy over the .inf file from Windows over to the Linux partition.Next read: This Tip Bruno
BarryB
LewmurWhat worked for me was to create a folder in my /home called DRV (original huh) anyway I copied the bcmwl5.sys and bcmwl5.inf to that folder. ran the config app with the ndiswrapper and pointed to the Windows driver DRV folder... picked dhcp was was good to go( the only quirk I've encounter...if you have thac's repository added to your synaptic list for upgrades ,was THAC's repository holds an ndiswrapper upgrade that didn't work for me...so far the original ndiswrapper that came with PCLos has worked best for me..) teacher
Before you do all that, what is your kernel? Are you running one of the newest? There is a big difference in built in support with the 2.6.12 and later kernels.
