Bruno
Hi FrankThe sources.lst is the same for the US as for the rest of the world . . . here it is: # Package repository URL's# Signed repositories have a [<key>] where <key> is the name of the key# as it appears in vendors.list. If you remove it, no digital signature check# will be made.rpm http://spout.ussg.indiana.edu/linux/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://ftp.belnet.be/pub/mirror/pclinuxonline.com/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://ftp.ch.debian.org/mirror/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://ftp.sh.cvut.cz/MIRRORS/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://ftp.nl.freebsd.org/os/Linux/distr/texstar/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://ftp.pbone.net/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://rm.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://mirrors.lastdot.org:1280/pclos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://ftp.eth0-up.com/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://pclosusers.com/pclosusers/pclosfiles/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://ftp.leg.uct.ac.za/pub/linux/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm http://mirror.pacific.net.au/pub1/linux/texstar/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome# rpm ftp://klid.dk/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde gnome This one uses the spout.ussg.indiana.edu mirror ( was the default ) Bruno
Frank Golden
Thanks Bruno, I made a backup copy for future use. What I had done was attempt to add my PCLinuxOS P.A.S.S repo and I forgot to backup my old sources.list.I ended up overwriting the original sources.list with the P.A.S.S. repo. BillD
This one uses the spout.ussg.indiana.edu mirror ( was the default ) Yes, and in this case, it is as fast as the PASS ones I have had in the past. I naively assumed that the next version would be out soon, and sent them a check last September, one week before Hurricane Ike hit Houston, and said check was never cashed and I never heard back from them. Incidentally, when I downloaded it, it came down from Indiana noticeably faster than it did from nluug.Bill Edited March 14, 2009 by BillD

I did download before DistroWatch announced the release so that might have made a difference. Edited March 14, 2009 by Frank Golden
zlim
My sources list on 2009.1 matches what is posted above (all 2007 repositories).Since my 2009.1 is a clean install when I reloaded, I now see 8795 packaged listed with 1404 installed. 7391 are new in the repository. Surely I don't want to install over 7000 packages? The other confusing thing is that I do not have the two packages Bruno listed as updates for 2009.1I'm showing a screenshot so you can see mklivecd is MIA.Should I be using a different set of repositories? I only have one enabled the http://spout.ussg.indiana.edu one.Okay, I just changed my source from indiana.edu to the Belgian repository and I have Installed(upgradeable) which was missing when I used my previous repo. I now see the two items Bruno mentioned as well as 10 other packages. Now my question is - what repository should I use so I will have the fewest problems possible? I guess not all repos are equal. Bruno
Hi LizNo worries about the amount of new packages it lists . . . . nobody installs ALL packages that are on the mirrors ;)Indeed you noticed that I added a "*" footnote to the post in the new update thread, saying that I used the belnet.be mirror . . . at the time I did the updates yesterday only 2 updates were available, there might be more today ( I always check late in the afternoon CET ).The updates I check for potential problems will be from belnet.be . . . . because I think that belnet.be is fairly safe to use . . . . If you want to be "super safe" just run a few days later then my posts in That ThreadYesterday as I posted the updates the spout.ussg.indiana.edu did not yet have the updated packages ( and nluug.nl already had more then the 2 updates I posted ) . . that is why I switched to belnet.be because they were in the middle. zlim
Thanks. When I updated (I think I looked at the heanet.ie repo), I only chose the two you had listed figuring I would be okay.I was very interested in the mklivecd because I use this; it's as good as making an image in windows. If things get bad, put in the CD and get a fully working and tweaked PCLinux.
Bruno
Today on belnet.be there were a few more updates ( 10 ) . . . . dunno if you get a decent speed from the belnet.be yourself, you could maybe switch to it ? Bruno
