Bruno
As 3 of you have already noticed there are a few words ( commands ) that when typed in a text on the forum ( or in a PM ) trigger an error message like:This is because of enhanced security of the servers of our new webhost . . . we like the forum to be super-safe so these are things we will have to live with. A quote from a message from our webhost to Scot: This is due to the request filter settings we have in LiteSpeed (request filter is very similar to mod_security - www.modsecurity.org). These filters are designed to prevent users from exploiting and downloading malicious files in the process. Unfortunately, a side effect is that it scans the "POST" type requests for such things as 'wget', 'lynx', etc. A few examples: -c <webpage> -aWe did find a simple work-around: I have uploaded pictures of those commands on my site: "wget" =http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/WgetPicture.png"lynx" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/LynxPicture.png"tail"= http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/TailPicture.png"uname" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/UnamePicture.png"gcc" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/GccPicture.pngSo you can do like I did in this post, if ever you need to use one of these commands just insert the picture in your text. If, in the future, there seem to be more commands causing trouble: please let me know and I will upload pictures of them to brunolinux.net BrunoPS: Just so you know, pictures do not show in "code" boxes like no pics are shown here . . but they do in "quote" boxes pics do show okay here EDIT: Please note that all links referring to brunolinux.net are broken. ~Eric 1238hrs:120111

trigggl
We did find a simple work-around: I have uploaded pictures of those commands on my site: "wget" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/WgetPicture.png"lynx" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/LynxPicture.png"tail"= http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/TailPicture.png"uname" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/UnamePicture.png"gcc" = http://brunolinux.net/SNLF/GccPicture.pngSo you can do like I did in this post, if ever you need to use one of these commands just insert the picture in your text. If, in the future, there seem to be more commands causing trouble: please let me know and I will upload pictures of them to brunolinux.netIs it possible for someone to include those in the Emoticon list for easy access?Just an idea from an engineer that likes shortcuts.EDIT: I just had another idea. Is it possilble to use a picture format on the board that has a clear background?I guess not. "png" is still not allowed? Bruno
If I use a clear or transparent background for the pictures people will try to copy and paste the command and wonder why it's not working. The white background shows that it is a pic and not just text. You can however type the commands with "-signs like: "wget" . . . that works too. securitybreach
Odd, I just noticed the forum did not flag w g e t on today's Arch updates. I usually get a 403 Forbidden error whenever I have one of banned words on the update post. I just tested all of the other words that are banned and all of them work now. Does anyone know what has changed recently?OK, now it is very odd..... I just got a 403 error when I posted w.g.e.t. normally on this response. securitybreach
You can see that it let me post that if you look at today's Arch Updates http://forums.scotsnewsletter.com/index.ph...st&p=333618 Look under the i686 Core section. I had tried the other banned words on the update thread but I removed them after they worked.
