For example `ls -l` might fail where $(ls -l) works (though the real-world examples are more complex than these, of course. I'd say if you're not having problems with bash you're better off leaving it alone, but if you're getting an error like "unexpected EOF looking for matching `", you may wish to give this package a try. So since I had no problems I edited the /etc/swaret.conf to exclude bash from updates. ( EXCLUDE=bash )So when running "swaret --update && swaret --upgrade" I got the reply "Installed Packages are up-to-date!"
