Bruno
Thanks ! Nice one Ivan . . . might just want to try that on my test-install . . . . . . . . do you think it is "stable" enough to try ? ( Yep I know it is in "unstable" . . . but still )I have to say that the tests I did up to now with 3.4 were not really big fun . . . but I suppose Texstar did do a better job on it ;) Bruno
ikerekes
Thanks ! Very stable.True I am using the 2.6.11.1-oci2 with the KDE 3.4, and i can't really tell that is the 2.6.11 or KDE 3.4, but it is definitelly faster. with the fixes (sane) the longstanding scanner problem is solved, and a few other....Definitelly worth the try.Ivan
Bruno
Thanks Ivan . . . . I will do one install with 3.4 . . . leaving the other with 3.3 so I can compare Bruno
teacher
I will have to plug in adn update. I have been running the developmental but had mirror problems lately. Something in one of my last updates broke my ndiswrapper and I am going to have to remove and reinstall that. I get an error with the kernel files now so maybe I might as well plug in and play! Bruno
Am posting from PCLos KDE 3.4 right now . . . . only "bug" I found up to now is that it keeps asking if I want to accept cookies from the forum even if I say to accept "all" from this domain . . . ( Konqueror browser )KDE Control Center looks really cool !And it does not have those annoying tooltips I saw in earlier KDE 3.4 test versions ! :thumbsup:Also the CD-Burn icon in the filemanager is a good idea for people new to Linux Bruno

Dard
That is a secret Louis . . . to prevent novices from trying this . . . i will send you a PM Bruno<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bruno could you PM me the ftp sources for the KDE3.4 The only question I have is after 3.4 is installed, how do I do the normal updates?Just continue using the unstable mirror? Could you clarify the "balloon" issue with 3.4?Thanks.
Bruno
Hi DardI usually take out the unstable source after getting KDE 3.4 . . . . you will then only get the "stable" updates after that . . . and no updates for KDE at all anymore till 3.4 comes to stable too ;)PM is on the way BrunoPS: The "balloons are the EXTRA LARGE tool-tips you get when your mouse is on an icon on the toolbar
teacher
I just have to say I really like the KDE 3.4 in PCLos. I am running it on my laptop and had great fun playing with it yesterday. I think I tweaked every KDE setting there is to tweak.
