What is this? It shows up at various times, and I had to shut the power off today,
Is it helpful or can I shut it off or schedule it?
Thanks,
Jerry

It is a "scheduled task" that can be removed, disabled, or changed.  Here are a couple of topics from the HP forum:  how to disable hardware diagnostic tools monthly test - HP Support Forum - 286462 and HP Communities - HP Hardware Diagnostic Tools - How To Change Sched... - Enterprise Business Community

Thanks, Temmu.
I don't know much about what is needed and what is not. I have wondered if all the "hp" stuff and "Toshiba" stuff on my computers was needed. However, I have been afraid to remove or disable them. It is apalling how much junk the makers put on their systems.
Regards,
Jerry

Yes, it is. If you disable it in mis confit, it's easy enough to re-enable there too.
