Agent007
hi all,XFree v4.3 has support for some cool cursors....Here is a quick tut on how to add new ones.1) http://www.kde-look.org has some great stuff. On the right, u will find X11 Mouse Themes. As an example lets download the 'Golden-XCursors 3D theme'2) Unpack the files in the ~/.icons/ folder.Logout and Login for changes to take effect. When installing newer cursors, the file index.theme needs a small change (located in the ~/.icons/default folder) to point to the cursors of ur choice. Eg:- [icon Theme]Inherits=goldis changed to[icon Theme]Inherits=silverosThe 'Inherits' entry specifies the cursor to be used..enjoy!007PS:-http://themes.freshmeat.net/ has some cool stuff too! zox
That is great Agent, I just want to add that if you are nostalgic about Windows cursors and sand clock, get 3Dwhite pack of cursors and you have your regular windows cursors in Linux :)And also, only the latest Linux Distributions have XFree 4.3.0 and those are Reddhat 9, Mandrake 9.1, Suse 8.2, etc..If you have older distro, you will have to upgrade your XFree at least to this version or higher.
