Frank Golden Posted September 25, 2010 Share Posted September 25, 2010 Hi folks, just updated both my PCLinuxOS 2010 KDE and Gnome installs.360 packages for the gnome version and 282 packages for the KDE version.Around 109 mb or more.There is also a new kernel available though not in the update suite.The kernel update is listed under the "new in the repositories" field or by searching for kernel in Synaptic.New kernel is 2.6.33.7-pclos4 (.bfs and .pae versions are available also).Despite the large size of the updates everything went well with no errors.Be aware that if the kernel update is performed PCLinuxOS will take the time to load all the kernel modules you have atfirst boot. This could take several minutes depending on the number of kernel modules installed.It's been awhile since there has been this many updates at once with PCLinuxOS.Looks like Tex and the Gang hit a homer.
