Lover of quiet computers
In an article, IBM CIO Bob Greenberg is quoted as saying, Our chairman has challenged the IT organization, and indeed all of IBM to move to a Linux based desktop by the end of 2005.Later in the article, it is stated that an IBM spokespersondownplays the significance of the memo, noting that the company has no specific plans to move to the Linux desktop. Can someone please explain to me how a spokesperson can contradict the CIO? Jeber
My guess...the spokesman is speaking for the CEO, who is telling the CIO that he's overstepped his authority and spoken out of turn.Orrrrr...it could be something else entirely.
