Guest LilBambi
SonicDragon --The short answer is .... Yes, and no.BSD is a true UNIX OS, and Linux is a UNIX-like OS. Some commands are very similar, particularly in programs that are ported to both. However, the locations of where files are kept in the operating system and what things are called are different.Once you learn what things are called; ie., what devices are called, their syntax for calling commands, and the various locations for system files in BSD, the basic concepts are very similar because Linux is UNIX-like.But there is a learning curve between them. nlinecomputers
Even some Linuxes are different. Red Hat tends to put things in different locations then Debian for example. But if you have a strong understanding of BSD then Linux or other *.nixes will not give you much trouble.
