      I have a 3rd Gen Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e, yes a student laptop with 11.6" screen, made in 2018. I love it. You should be able to pick one up quite cheaply, mine was about $AU300 when it was only 2 years old. Still running Debian Buster on it which is out of support so I plan to put Trixie on it shortly. Side note - I just heard Trixie will be released as Stable in early August! Specs don't look great on paper - 1.6GHz Celeron, 4GB RAM (upgradeable and some have 8GB), but it is really snappy for web browsing, watching videos and playing music which is mainly what I use it for. Brilliant for travel. For serious computing tasks I use my desktop. Tough as boots too, check this short video:

      Well you would know better than I whether such laptops exist. I don't know what is the smallest laptop you work on.

      16gb ram isnt enough nowadays for me.
