Yeah I'm using X11 for the time being which is why I haven't tried it.  It's good to see someone doing the work though.

Reminds me of sway which is a drop-in replacement for i3wm on wayland. I've never used it before as I still use X11.

I came across this project recently: a windowmaker clone for wayland.  Very interesting.  I haven't tried it yet, but perhaps it gives us windowmaker fans a migration route to wayland.  The author is asking for people to try it out.   https://github.com/phkaeser/wlmaker   Enjoyed the memes!
