Before I did my fresh install of Arch CUPS worked just fine.

Since the fresh install I can not get CUPS to work. I have followed the wiki and as far as I can see I have everything set up correctly but can not print. I can post any files or results from commands if requested like,

first thing I thought too, SB.  While Brother provides linux drivers (and deserves our support for THAT), they are proprietary in nature and not "supported" by Brother.  Brother products aren't plug'n'play, or easily "discovered" like HP printers.

Well I had thought I had installed the same driver that I had on the old Arch install but it appears that what I thought was the right driver was not, as the driver you pointed me to works. Not sure how that transpired as I checked the relevant folders and files from the old Arch install against what I thought were the install files and folders that I put on the new Arch install.

So this new driver works and I can print again.

Thanks folks. 😎
