snminc
Greetings to all, I installed PCLOS 2016 64KDE a while ago in a dual boot system with Windows 10. I've set the default OS to windows, however PCLOS continues to load if no OS is selected. Has anyone any ideas why PCLOS is not loading my default OS? Thanks, Scott
securitybreach
What is the first entry on the bootloader splash? Also, open up /etc/default/grub in a text editor and see which is the default entry loaded. It will say GRUB_DEFAULT= (replace with number) which denotes the default entry if none is chosen. Basically, I think your default is PCLos and not Win 10. http://www.howtogeek.com/196655/how-to-configure-the-grub2-boot-loaders-settings/
snminc
Many thanks Security Breech. Windows 10 is set to the default os via the Control Center/set up boot loader. My Grub file doesn't have a GRUB_DEFAULT entry GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" splash quiet noiswmd resume=UUID=1a29b4b7-acb5-4ec3-8670-950a92a4e0d9" GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY=false GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT=gfxterm GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=y GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=PCLinuxOS GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768x32 GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep GRUB_TIMEOUT=10 GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub2/themes/pclinuxos/theme.txt Any ideas? securitybreach
Well it does but it's labeled differently. This is the partition that is booting first: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=" splash quiet noiswmd resume=UUID=1a29b4b7-acb5-4ec3-8670-950a92a4e0d9" Run blkid as root or sudo and look for the entry that says 1a29b4b7-acb5-4ec3-8670-950a92a4e0d9 That is the default partition that is booting. snminc
Thanks I had added the line GRUB_DEFAULT=2 and now the bootloader defaults to Windows. Happy days Scott
