abarbarian
Neat. I was still watching and dreaming of Dr Who in 1969 and the first tendrils of SkyNet were growing, In 1972 I was probably dreaming about robots and the first principle. Whilst SkyNet had spread like the plague. An in 1973 I had probably moved on to dreaming about electric sheep.Whilst Skynet had gone satellite and crossed the ocean by linking the good ol' USA to blighty. The march of progress behind the scenes is remarkable from 1969 to 1973 considering that ordinary folk here were still getting used to colour tv and many homes were still ooohing and ahhhing over having a phone installed. God bless SkyNet and all who watch with her. Edited June 25, 2015 by abarbarian

crp
back in the very early 80s I helped a little in typing in the routing tables. yepp, back then the routing tables were entered in by hand and passed around. as i recall, there were several versions and 'hosts' so if the machine could not find the destination it would poll another 'host'.
