V.T. Eric Layton
That sure looks like a very narrow broadband. 260Kbps? Myeh... it's faster than dial-up was.
abarbarian
Narrow is an understatement. Speed better today as I hooked up the new router I was sent. However with the same provider on the same package with their old router last week I was cruising at 2.00 Mb/s. This is their advert, More about SimplyBroadband... V.T. Eric Layton
This is on copper twin line that belongs to your phone company, I'm assuming? If so, don't be so quick to blame the provider. The logjam may be your infrastructure's (the phone company's antiquated equipment/lines) fault.
Capt.Crow
No copper here .It all went to the recyclers for peace of mind . Dare I say it "pikeys" follow telephone lines.

Other folk nearby, An only two miles away in Kendal, I am paying for a 17Mb connection and only getting ten percent of that !! You would soon complain if that happened at your local garage when you bought petrol. An our glorious leaders have been telling us that we would get 2 Mb country wide for years. Shows where their heads are at if they think 2 Mb is something to shout about. No wonder we are a joke country with clowns l;like them running the show. V.T. Eric Layton
Yeah, but I was pinging a server 4000+ miles away from my home. That's a LOT of nodes to get through before reaching the destination.
