Guest LilBambi
James Garner Rest In Peace - 5 Buck Review Blog James Garner passed away yesterday, July 19, 2014 of natural causes at 86 years of age. James Garner was a wonderful actor. When he was young, my favorite show was Maverick! Later one of my most favorite shows of all time was The Rockford Files. He also did some great movies as well as noted in the quote from Wikipedia entry for James Garner: James Garner (born James Scott Bumgarner; April 7, 1928 – July 19, 2014) was an American film and television actor, one of the first Hollywood actors to excel in both media. He starred in several television series spanning a career of more than five decades which included such popular roles as Bret Maverick in the 1950s western-comedy series, Maverick, and Jim Rockford in the 1970s detective drama, The Rockford Files. Garner starred in more than 50 films including The Great Escape (1963), Paddy Chayefsky’s The Americanization of Emily (1964), Grand Prix (1966), Blake Edwards’ Victor Victoria (1982), Murphy’s Romance (1985) for which he received an Academy Award nomination, and The Notebook (2004). All of which I loved! Plus many more he was in that are mentioned in the Wikipedia article. As a little bit of trivia that all of us The Rockford Files fans would know and appreciate, I always loved the answering machine gags, on the show and here’s a Youtube video of them: Much more in the article including a touching tribute from Morgan Freeman. Guest LilBambi
This is still one of my all time favorite shows.
ebrke
And there are cable channels practically devoted to really silly old TV shows. The ones you enjoyed back in the day (like Spencer for Hire and Rockford Files) are nowhere to be seen.

ebrke
How hard did you look? (4th result in Google) Link I was thinking about cable TV channels. They're the ones who give you lots of the shows you couldn't care less about. I do my TV viewing later in the evening when I really don't want to be sitting in front of my computer. Guest LilBambi
How hard did you look? (4th result in Google) Link I think she meant channels on off air/digital TV or Cable TV? Looks like she already addressed that LOL! I didn't have to look...I knew it was on Hulu but can't watch it there due to bandwidth limitations...sigh... Guest LilBambi
Yes, we did too! And for way longer than most folks because for years here in the boonies, even Verizon Wireless wasn't an option and still for my realtime needs satellite is still not ready for prime time. Just sad that a wired solution without such ludicrous caps is still not available here...sigh...

ebrke
On quick glance at map, Comcast doesn't seem to carry it in NJ which doesn't make sense since they seem to in NY. I sometimes miss it when Comcast adds new stations. I'll have to look more carefully later when I have more time--I clicked wrong on the map and wound up in Africa--no kidding. I guess this station has a wide audience! Thanks Webb!
