Corrine
Mozilla sent Firefox Version 30.0 to the release channel. The update includes five (5) Critical and two (2) High security updates. Unfortunately, the issue introduced with version 29.1 that many users have experienced with slow shut downs resulting in the "Firefox is already running" warning remains unresolved. To get the update now, select "Help" from the Firefox menu at the upper left of the browser window, then pick "About Firefox." Additional information about the update is available in my blog post at Mozilla Firefox Version 30.0 Released.
ebrke
Unfortunately, the issue introduced with version 29.1 that many users have experienced with slow shut downs resulting in the "Firefox is already running" warning remains unresolved. I've experienced this in openSuSE, but mother's win7 notebook seems to shut down FF fine, at least she hasn't complained to me. I did a FF reset on linux system (24 hours ago) that seems to have helped, but created annoyances with lost settings, etc.
V.T. Eric Layton
I have that in Slackware, too. Takes 5 to sometimes 30 seconds for FF to completely die.
Guest LilBambi
Yes, that is very annoying actually.
Robert
I thought I broke Firefox and suspected Lastpass must be running in the background.
Guest LilBambi
Firefox always is slow to shutdown. Has nothing to do with Lastpass.
sunrat
I had that issue a while back but haven't seen it lately. Currently using Iceweasel 31.0 from Debian Mozilla experimental repo.
