Guest LilBambi
James started a thread about software that works in Vista and that's very important. However, to avoid frustration, it would also be good to know what software does NOT work, or partially doesn't work, and if the developer plans to release a version that will work with Vista. Also might want to post ways that folks have gotten some software to work that does not work right out of the box.If you have come across software that doesn't work, please feel free to post it in this topic. James M. Fisher
Thanks for starting this topic Fran. One application that I use in XP that does not have a Vista-friendly equivalent (yet) is Crytainer file encrytion software from Cypherix.http://www.cypherix.com/index.htm

goretsky
Hello,The IEXBeta web site has three web pages you might be interested in:Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List (and Windows ReadyBoost Compatible Devices, which is separate page but sort of a subset)Windows Vista Software Compatibility ListThe wiki entries contain objects which are known to work with Windows Vista, work partially with it and do not work at all. Very useful reading.RegardsAryeh Goretsky

greengeek
I can't seem to get Adobe Creative Suite CS3 to install on Vista but after looking at all the problems with it on Adobe's forum it might be their fault and nothing to do with Vista. hkspike
Surely, this list should include Vista itself? How many OSes think they've recovered from a Serious Error when returning from a Vista induced Sleep?
lewmur
Had a client who couldn't access the net because almost every page would time out. Finally uninstalled Cox Cable's security suite and everything was fine.
