crp Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 i thought there was a way to setup DNS BIND9 so that certain sections of it could only be access by the LAN and not the internet.We control our own nameserver and I want to setup the public and private addresses on it.so that :www.company.org 67.256.256.256mail.company.org 67.256.256.256is seeable by everyone on the internet (yes 256 is a dummy value)andfiles.company.org 192.168.256.256is seeable only by users on our 192.168 LAN.Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Peachy Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 Are you wanting to have a zone that has an external and internal face? If so, you can use the BIND view directive. Here's a tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/two_in_one_dns_bind9_viewsOtherwise, you could just create to zone files, one with the external addresses and second one for the internal ones.
