Help! Is anyone else finding it impossible to get win7 to download July patches? Also, what's everyone's experience with power settings on laptops with this unending wait for updates that don't appear. Is it really necessary to turn off system standby and let disc keep rotating to be sure you can get updates? I really don't want to let my mother's laptop run and run for hours on end, I'm starting to worry about the hardware. EDIT: OK, this is getting nuts. Today when I go into windows update, it now says there are no updates available and system is up to date. Last night there were 6 updates available that never installed and I finally had to cancel and turn off the machine. What is going on with MS?
