Stryder
I have only used PCAnywhere. Been using it for about 2 years now. Fell in love with it the first time I tried it. I have found it to be as useful just over a LAN as it is for doing true remote connections. You can run all your maintenance programs, program/virus/windows updates, etc. on each PC on your LAN from one computer. Too easy!!!! Guest ThunderRiver
Interesting. Which version do you use? When I first started using PCAnywhere, I got lost because I am used to the concept of two executables. One is Server and another one is of course the client. In PCAnywhere, I found it a bit user unfriendly, and my main problem with it is that when a new user comes to PCAnywhere, they don't know where to start. It is just not as easy to use as any other packages you see in the market. But for people that do know how to use it, they all have great feedback for itThere is a new Public beta of PCAnywhere from Norton, and if you are interested, click here

Prior to that 10.0 PCAny is the only one I have ever used. I am not sure about versions prior to 10.0 but it has been very easy to set up once you browse the manual. I am the king of figure it out first, look at the manual when all else fails. Stubborn I guess. You basically have executables in the same program. You have one area for configuring as client, if you want that machine to be a client, and another area to configure the master. Or you can configure it to be a master and a client. I do not know what it was like prior to 10.0, but it is really user friendly now. Thanks for the link, I seen that over at betanews the other day and had forgotten about it. Guest LilBambi
I have always felt that there are many tools to do a job. You just have to find the ones that work for you in any given situation and go with it.I have used WebEx, PCAnyWhere (same version that you used prior to XP Stryder), VNC, and SSH.I used to use telnet too, but I gave up entirely quite a while ago due to security issues.
