abarbarian
17 alternatives to your default image viewer on Fedora 6 Lightweight Qt Image Viewers for Linux Was looking for an alternative image viewer and found these neat articles. I tried out Nomacs and Photoqt and am quite impressed with both. The information on how to set up and use photoqt is very impressive indeed and well worth a peek. http://photoqt.org/about I'm not a trained programmer. I'm a simple Maths student that loves doing stuff like this. All I know about programming I taught myself over the years. So PhotoQt might not be done in the best of ways, several things could probably be improved (from a programming point of view). But it's as good as I can do it, and I'm constantly learning and improving things. I heard a number of times people saying, that PhotoQt is a "copy" of Picasa's image viewer. Well, it's not. In fact, I myself have never used Picasa. I have seen it in use though by others, and I can't deny that it influenced the basic design idea a little. But I'm not trying to do something "like Picasa". I try to do my own thing, and to do it as good as I can. If some consider it to be a replacement for Picasa, well, I feel a little honoured (since Picasa is created by "proper" programmers). The above is from the photoqt home page and impressed the pants of me.
securitybreach
Very cool On another note, that guy really needs to update his webpage. That looks like something from 2000. Wow, he even has an Arch download (link to the AUR but still)
V.T. Eric Layton
I've used Geeqie for years. It does everything I need it to do. http://sourceforge.net/projects/geeqie/

New website design (and more info) 8/5/2015 - by Lukas Spies The old design of http://photoqt.org wasn't necessarily bad, yet I wasn't entirely happy with it. It simply didn't look the way I wanted it to. So a couple days ago, I gave it a make-over; The layout is now much simpler, cleaner and brighter - just the way I like it.
saturnian
I use Mirage and Geeqie.
abarbarian
I use Mirage and Geeqie. I have been using Mirage but found it a tad slow to load large directories of pictures so was looking for a quicker alternative when just viewing and running a slide show. Never tried Geeqie, guess that is for real geeks
