lewmur
The recently lamented artcle about Desktop Linux got me to thinking. There are tens and maybe hundreds of thousands of Rasberry Pi's already on order. All will be running Linux. And that's before they hit the UK school system next fall. And there is talk about Australia doing the same thing in their schools. My evil thought? What if the Redmond, WA schools did the same thing? All it would take is one generation of kids growing up with Open Source and you could kiss MS good bye! :P edit: The only way MS could compete with the Pi would be to revert to the Win98SE code base, strip that down to where it is usable, re-compile it for ARM, and then give it away to schools Edited March 31, 2012 by lewmur
