Guest ThunderRiver
Today, I just installed Crossover Office 2.0, and I actually installed most of the fonts + Internet Explorer 6, everything went quite smooth. Though it says it supports Office Xp, i got into some troubles with it, so I could not continue the installation. However, I still have Office 2000 laying around on my HDD, so I browse to that directory, and it installed flawlessly ;)Here is a the screenshot
Bruno
And is it faster then OpenOffice ? How is the loading time ? Any other remarks on it ? Bruno
Guest ThunderRiver
It loads a lot faster than OpenOffice for sure. Just like what you would expect in Windows and probably even better. Better native font support like Times New Roman, Lucida Console, Currier New, Arial, Impact, Georgia and etc. After you installing Office 2000, you consequently get more font as well. It works great for me. No crash yet, and I already uninstalled Open Office for good. There is a trial version you can download. http://www.codeweavers.com/products/download_trial.php
Bruno
Well, we´ll sure be pointing to this post if any questions come up about office-suites ThunderRiver. First hand experience is a good recommendation. Lost of people look for alternatives all the time, you can expect them comming knocking on your ¨door¨ ! Guest ThunderRiver
Sure thing. I just never felt it is fair for them to charge 30+ bucks for it. It is based on WINE with their own tweaking codes, so why do they insist on earning money for it? With CrossOver being free, I am sure more people will feel comfortable switching over to Linux.
