cybormoron
barring some natural disaster i plan on going to this one. they have moved the convention to a larger hotel and it's a lot closer to me. it's practically in my backyard, hehe. i went 2 years ago but skipped last year. i really enjoyed being there. i thought it was a little crowded. the lecture rooms were standing room only so this new place should provide more room.the one lecture i went to 2 years ago was how to create a .deb package and upload it. it was interesting but a little over my head at the time.a couple of scheduled celebrities i'll try to spot are wil wheaton of star trek fame and Jon Hall (programmer). What is Penguicon? * More than 1,000 geeks who gather annually in southeast Michigan to celebrate o science fiction and fantasy o free and open source software o and other geek interests * A party in a hotel o all weekend o bursting with creativity and intelligence o and free beer * Packed with scheduled content o crossing disciplines o full of celebrities and experts o opening the source of everything by teaching you HOWTO o encouraging you, the attendees, to teach us what you know * A half-dozen conventions combined. Mix and match a weekend that's just for you! http://penguicon.org/index.phpedit...oh, and this guy, everyones worst nightmare is scheduled to be there.http://penguicon.org/celebrities.php Edited February 22, 2009 by cybormoron
