zlim
IE is up to date as far as security updates through June 2018. I have AdBlockPlus installed. When I read in another thread that uBlockOrigin works in Windows 10, I figured I'd see if it was available for Windows 7. I click on Tools then Mange Addons. From that point on, it gets bizarre. I click on Find More Toolbars and Extensions and Palemoon pops up.This gives me a 404 error because MS has broken the connection between the browser and the "gallery" when they eliminated it and replace it with the MS store, I suspect. Is there any way to actually get an addon for IE in Windows 7? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I went here https://support.micr...-manage-add-ons the directions don't make sense. swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or right-click) to bring up the app commands, So I decided to try the virtual assistant. The assistant, tried to give solutions for Windows 10. I typed a few times Windows 7 and all I got was "I don't understand". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I did manage to find the store and discovered uBO only works in Edge. Don't waste time dealing with this non-issue. Edited June 23, 2018 by zlim
Pete!
My information could be out of date, but as far as I can tell, uBlock Origin is not available for Internet Explorer. I suspect that "Works in Windows 10" is with Edge, not IE.
Digerati
I did manage to find the store and discovered uBO only works in Edge. Not exactly true. As seen here, it works with Safari, Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Firefox, and Opera. But not IE.
onederer
I'm using Win10 now, and also UBlock, and it works. My wife is using it in PcLinuxOS. I've used PaleMoon in Win7 and using it in Win10. It works and it doesn't call home. I also used it in Linux. Flashpeak-Slimjet is also a fine browser, and just as secure as PaleMoon. Vivaldi also fits in that category. They have versions for Windows, and Linux. There' always the chance that something about the architecture of your machine, may be causing the problem, or a conflicting application. Cheers. There isn't anything wrong with my computer. I do use uBO in Palemoon, FF ESR and FF Quantum. The best I can do in IE is AdBlockPlus. Corrine
Yes, AdBlockPlus is the only add-on that I'm aware of for IE. That is why I didn't use IE on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and another reason why I've stuck with Pale Moon is because the add-ons I've used for years still work ("Athena' for canned speech management, "Back to the Top" to quickly move to the top or bottom of the page without scrolling, "BBCode Extra" for easily formatting both BBCode and HTML, and a couple others).
