raymac46
As mentioned before I have a lot of fun driving digital trains in Train Simulator 2014. The most fun is with British steam since a bunch of train nuts in the UK have produced some fine examples of Victorian and early 20th century locomotives. I've also discovered a utility program that lets me build my own trains and run them on the Train Simulator routes. Here's an example: This is something that can not be duplicated in real life. The two locomotives here are 3F 0-6-0 tender models built in the 1890s and all of them were scrapped by 1965. The station is on a heritage railway called West Somerset which is still around. raymac46
Well yes I do in a manner of speaking. Thomas himself doesn't exist in the simulation but: Gordon - Royal Scotsman A1 Pacific Duck - GWR Pannier tank Donald and Douglas - 3F 0-6-0 tender locos Henry - 4-6-0 Stanier "Black 5" Percy - 0-4-0 Saddle Tank shunter Spencer - Gresley A4 Pacific certainly do.
Capt.Crow
We the lad and I collected loads of engines ,tracks and all sorts of Thomas stuff and used to drive the missus mad when we laid out the system all over the place from room to room and up and down the corridor. We ran out of space once and took off the bath side panel to make a marshaling shed under there. Cant believe that was 12 years ago . Seems like yesterday. I miss those days BIG time

raymac46
Something a little prettier than freight. Here's an LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class loco at Settle Station.
abarbarian
Settle Station a grand place on a sunny day, bleak and foreboding the rest of the time.

Guest LilBambi
Something a little prettier than freight. Here's an LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class loco at Settle Station. That is pretty! The history and nostalgia of these old steam engines/trains are great. Even Harry Potter books make a great deal of the wonderful steam train on taking the kids to and from their magical school from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters (Platform 9 3/4) from Kings Cross Station in London: Edited August 5, 2014 by LilBambi
abarbarian
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goathland_railway_station This fine station on the North Yorkshire Moors was one of the locations in HP movies. The station is still in use as the Pickering to Whitby line passes through it and steam trains run regularly. I want to travel on one of the evening dining trains sometime, preferably early autumn, but I will have to save up as it is a tad expensive. You do travel in a First Class Pullman Restaurant car though.
