crp
yesterday was a really sucky day for entertainment people: Arnold Palmer, the pitcher Fernandez, Monty Python Terry Jones

Capt.Crow
I remember every kid on the street used to sit on the edge of their seats when A.P. was taking part in the *televised* tournaments. Back in the day when the screens were very grainy black and white. After the broadcasts without exception they would appear outdoors Playing "Golf" . No one had clubs but bits of stick etc were the order of the day. Putting into holes purposely made in the green verges of the footpaths. The golf balls were supplied by the pond near the 13th green at the local golf club. Minnow nets with extra long poles made it easy for us kids to fish the balls out. Arnold was a big hero for all the kids on our street. Memories of good times . He gave us a lot of joy . R.I.P.
