UncleBuck
Hi.Is it possible to construct an URL to initiate a search of a phpBB forum (in particular, this one:http://www.pocosystems.com/forum/)? The URL shown in the browser address bar is a generic http://www.pocosystems.com/forum/search.ph...hp?mode=results.I offer PocoMail users a bookmarklet that gives a unified search, using Google or AllTheWeb, of the scattered online resource for that product. But some people want a forum search included -- which would be a snap if there was an URL along the lines of .../forum/search.php?q=Scot+Finnie. NRD
http://www.pocosystems.com/forum/search.ph...h_keywords=POCOIs that what your looking for?You can also do it by a variety of variables like "search.php?search_author=" etc
epp_b
I think he means for the search form to pass GET variables instead of POST variables. This might be an option that's up to the admins to decide whether or not to use. If it isn't an admin option, then you're probably out of luck. Changing it would mean actually modifying the PHPBB forum code and potentially introducing security issues.(BTW, this thread should be be in "Forum Feedback", IMO). Ed_P
(BTW, this thread should be be in "Forum Feedback", IMO) The question posed isn't about this forum or even the software used by this forum, so why would you think that?

That appears to be exactly what I needed.> You can also do it by a variety of variables...At the risk of being pushy...do you have a web reference for this issue? If not, no matter. Thanks again. NRD
No Problem. I don't use Phbb, so I only know a few off hand.In addition to searching by author as mentioned above, you can search for new posts and unanswered posts using this.search.php?search_id=unansweredsearch.php?search_id=newpostsYou may need to be logged in to use those. You could also probably narrow the search to specific forums or topics, but I'm not sure of the syntax offhand. You can get what you're looking for by either checking the source of phbb, or viewing the source of the html that phbb spits out.
