securitybreach
Modern browsers are moving quickly to drop support for plugins, and Oracle sees the writing on the wall. This fall, the Java browser plugin will begin its farewell, the company confirmed in a Wednesday blog post. "With modern browser vendors working to restrict and reduce plugin support in their products, developers of applications that rely on the Java browser plugin need to consider alternative options such as migrating from Java Applets (which rely on a browser plugin) to the plugin-free Java Web Start technology," Oracle wrote......... http://www.pcmag.com...,2498557,00.asp
Guest LilBambi
Definiltey a good move to say good bye to the Java browser plugin. Wish we could do the same with the Flash plugin.
ebrke
Wish we could do the same with the Flash plugin. Wouldn't that be nice. *sigh* I'm falways grateful for Corrine's alerts so I can update Flash on my mother's win7 machine--they consistently arrive 24+ hours before my notification from US-CERT. zlim
Elizabeth, flash is updated on Patch Tuesdays for Windows 7. I do these before I even look at the Windows updates. From time to time there might be an additional out-of-cycle-patch.
Guest LilBambi
I use Google Chrome because Flash is built in and updated asap when Adobe updates it.
