alphaomega
"Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out..." Sorry I got a little sidetracked. Ignoring timer registration for id: telemetry_modules_ping Obviously an issue with the graphics driver? I tried uninstalling and re-installing, doing the same with packages from a different mirror, using Firefox's safe mode, starting with a new profile, and starting with everything backed up to another folder but nothing appeared to help. On further inspection it looks like I was actually running Slackware current around the time of 14.1 not 14.2. Worked my way from beginning to end (ie backwards) using Alien Bob's README to make sure I removed all the old packages and installed all the new packages. Going backwards to Firefox 55 gives me a similar issue but with everything white except for the window decorations and similar errors in Konsole. Going backwards to Firefox 52 ESR I get a white window. Menus and window decorations okay but with similar errors in Konsole. Going backwards to Firefox 45 ESR and all appears well except on occasion the window glitches. Looks like the window shakes a bit. Going to try and catch video of it the next time it happens. So far, except for Firefox 56, everything I've checked appears to be working. I'm currently using Firefox 45 ESR. Seamonkey from current works fine. I've come across posts with a similar issue (black screen in Firefox) and the recommendation is to update the drivers. Basic specs: Intel Core i5 4460 (3.20 GHz) 8 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4600 Problem with e10s between the working (45) vs non working version (56)? Problem with plugins not using webExtensions? It didn't work when I tried installing fresh with no plugins. I'm assuming Firefox 56 should work. It works w/e10s turned on in Arch Linux on the same machine. e10s currently off. Currently searching and reading up on: Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[0][GFX1-]: Failed 2 buffer Anyway, does anyone has any hints or clues regarding this issue? Thanks in advance. alphaomega
Hiya, αΩ... I wish I could help you out here, but I'm not running current and I don't know anything at all about AlienBob's FF builds. It's actually Slackware's FF and AlienBob's Plasma 5 and you were helpful. That's usually the way it happens. As soon as I reach out for help and post my issue here an answer comes soon after. By the way, where did you search and do you remember what you searched for (because you were quick with an answer)? *side note: those settings did not stick after a re-boot so I guess I have to put them in some startup file that is run as root (rc.local).
