saturnian
Release announcement at DistroWatch: http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=08356 Full release announcement at the antiX news page: http://antix.mepis.o...=Main_Page#News I'm running a live session from a flash drive, set up with Unetbootin, running with home persistence enabled. Looks very good. Lots of nice tools included. For an installed system, I prefer Debian Wheezy (Xfce), but MX-14 might be a better option for a lot of people. 32-bit only, though, but MX-14 has a newer version of Xfce. Default repos: Wheezy, Wheezy Backports, antiX, and some stuff from the Mepis Community repos. Edited March 26, 2014 by saturnian

abarbarian
Had a quick play with it from the E2B usb stick and I must say I'm quietly impressed.

securitybreach
They need to hire some designers. I mean it looks ok but reminds me of a desktop from 5 years ago. Just my opinion so take it for what's it worth
saturnian
Lol. Just a handful of volunteers from the Mepis/antiX community putting this thing together. I wasn't exactly impressed by the default appearance, either, but I don't pay much attention to that sort of thing. It's Linux and it's Xfce; who keeps the default set-up? You know, it seems like with Mepis, it's always been that the default appearance looked kinda... unprofessional. They try, but they never seem to have any really awesome designs. But I guess that's okay; they're never gonna please everyone anyway.
securitybreach
That and it is easy to change the look of any distro but a lot of times, the default look is what sells new users on it.
saturnian
MX-14 review: http://mylinuxexplor...view-truly.html This reviewer wasn't impressed with the design, either, securitybreach! Otherwise, seemed to like it: In overall, I am very impressed with MX-14 and is using it right now as my main operating system. antiX has surely come up with a gem which is truly special. I recommend it to all Linux enthusiasts to try it out - just like me you may fall in love with it!
