raymac46
Well, it's been over a year since my old friend Lillian passed away. Her husband Roch called me last night - no, he had not bought a computer. He did have a new HD cable box and was having trouble hooking it up to a TV and getting it working. He thought he had to connect a bunch of composite cables but I convinced him that one HDMI cable should do the job. He still wasn't able to get it working. So off I went. I discovered he had both HDMI and coax cable connected so I removed the coax. Then I set the TV to receive HDMI. We got a nice clear blue screen, but the cable box wouldn't reboot. It just got stuck at -01- and that was it. I phoned up the Cable TV provider and after some checking, the tech thought the box was defective. He reset it anyway. So I told Roch he'd have to go back to the store. While I was checking out the cable connections in the basement, a message suddenly appeared on screen saying there was a problem with the cable box (Duh!) I assumed that must have come from the cable company, so the box was at least talking to them. Rebooted again. This time it went through the boot sequence, loaded up the program info and Bingo! Instant CNN. Somehow I think the spirit of Lillian is watching over Roch.

zlim
At least everyone in your complex knows who to call for technical problems. Keep up the good work Ray.
