V.T. Eric Layton
https://www.youtube....h?v=xEhaVhta7sI http://youtu.be/xEhaVhta7sI OK, full link (the one in the address window of the browser) posts as a hyperlink. The Share link (the one in the Share box below the video on YouTube) auto-posts on the boare with the UBB tags. It's this latter than I cannot see with Chromium/Chrome once it's posted here. It's just a blank spot in the post box. I'm going to check this with Opera and Firefox right now. V.T. Eric Layton
OK, I can see the embedded video with Opera and Firefox, so I guess the IP.Board folks are right. It's a Chrome issue.
V.T. Eric Layton
And yet, embedded Youtube vids work fine in Chromium/Chrome on any non-IP.Board site. That still makes it an IP.Board issue, I would think. Searched online for over an hour now. Can't find anything that fixes this.
Robert
Could it be an http vs https problem?
V.T. Eric Layton
I thought about that, Robert. However, I have the same issue in Chromium/Chrome with all my extensions disabled, including https everywhere.
Guest LilBambi
Maybe a corrupted installation? Maybe uninstall, then download and reinstall? Maybe remove the .folder/files before installing again. Suggest you sync your bookmarks at the very least with your GMail address sign on before doing that. Also suggest you try true Google Chrome and not Chromium, if you are using Chromium.
V.T. Eric Layton
Nah... can't be. I experience the same issue in Chromium/Chrome in all of my systems... main, laptop, and shop. Can you see the embedded Youtube vid above in your Chrome, Fran?
V.T. Eric Layton
There are two methods in that post above: a raw link to the vid and an embedded player link. I can see the raw link, but not the embedded one. The later is just a blank area in the post box, like a bunch of carriage returns.
V.T. Eric Layton
Nope. Still not working for me, Josh. However, if you got any Chrome/Chromium updates in Arch, I won't see them till I re-compile a new version from source in my Slackware. Guest LilBambi
It's worth the compiling time Eric.
V.T. Eric Layton
Oh, yeah... I know. I'll get to it.. or I'll snarf it off Eric Hameleers' server as soon as he compiles it.
V.T. Eric Layton
OK, all updated... Chromium --> Version 38.0.2125.101 (290379) (64-bit) Chrome --> Version 38.0.2125.101 (64-bit) HEY! I can see the embedded Youtube vid above. COOL!

V.T. Eric Layton
https://youtu.be/_W-fIn2QZgg Umm... the board seems to have stopped auto-parsing video URLS again. It won't even display videos using the media tags? What's up?
V.T. Eric Layton
https://youtu.be/_W-fIn2QZgg Hmm... updated Chromimium and Chrome. Still no joy.

sunrat
Try changing https to http and see if it works.
V.T. Eric Layton
Well, when I do http instead of https, I get a gray box with a puzzle piece in it that says "This plug-in not supported."
V.T. Eric Layton
Working now. My pepperflash in chromium became corrupted somehow. A re-install fixed it.
Guest LilBambi
Did you reinstall pepperflash or chromium to fix? And for any who are wondering, this may be a Linux only situation. Will have to check Windows and Mac later.

V.T. Eric Layton
Using UBBcode media coding --> [ media]link[ /media] (no spaces): http://forums.scotsnewsletter.com/index.php?showtopic=72441 Nope that doesn't work either. V.T. Eric Layton
Yo, Mods... It seems Youtube embedding is not working again.
Robert
I recently uninstalled the flash player work around that made YouTube work in Firefox on Ubuntu. Now viewing embedded videos does not work here for me either. Amazon Prime and Hulu videos do not work anymore either. Using Chrome on Ubuntu it all works fine here, on Amazon, and everywhere else I checked except Hulu.
