abarbarian
Blade of Agony Chapters 1 + 2 Blade of Agony is a story-driven FPS. The project is inspired by WWII shooters from the 90's and early 2000's, like Wolfenstein 3D, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty, but with faster-paced gameplay in the spirit of Doom! The game can be played standalone using the GZDoom engine as a base. Blade of Agony is much more than just a pastiche of the classic shooters that inspired it; the project will offer a unique experience. It also has many features not often seen in source port projects--Blade of Agony truly pushes GZDoom to its limits. 17 playable and unique levels in Chapter 1 & 2 (over 24 in the full game) Orchestra-quality game music Voice acting and ambient soundscapes A combination of low-poly models and hi-resolution sprite assets to create the perfect retro feeling Devastating armaments from the battlefields of WWII Interactive NPCs that support the twisted plot's progress and help you understand the game Beautiful special effects (weather, elements, explosions, etc.) Much, much more! Flatpak from here, https://flathub.org/..._Blade_of_Agony Snap from here, https://snapcraft.io/boa Blade of Agony runs really well on my Windows 7 install on my skylake rigg. I installed to my Arch/sklake set up with the flatpak version. The install went easily and the game ran. However for some reason the graphics were very blocky and the game did not run as smoothly as the windows install. This is a shame as installing was a easy one click affair just as advertised by the flatpak folk. I have not tried out the snap version yet. Nearly forgot, if you try and get stuck throwing grenades in the training session the answer can be found here, https://www.moddb.com/mods/wolfendoom-blade-of-agony/downloads/blade-of-agony-chapter-1 you will need the information if you want to throw grenades or kick someone anywhere in the game. abarbarian
Flatpak game play update I had another look at the flatpak install and made a few changes in the OPTIONS section of the game. I can now report that the flatpak version runs very sweetly at 1920x1200 on my Arch install. Snap game play update I installed the snap version and can report that it runs fine as above but with no sound. The install can not find a default alsa folder or file. This is probably due to Arch having a slightly different file set up to Buntus and it would be a easy thing to sort out. Now that I have tried both versions I must say that I am both impressed with the two methods of packaging and installing the game, oh and the game itself of course.

Thanks Hmm not sure what they were, In OPTIONS and in VIDEO I have FULL SCREEN, 16:10, and 1920x1200 set. I think I had to set the FULL SCREEN or ASPECT RATIO first before I got a proper screen size choice. ENH.Options is where you can set Kicks and Grenade Throws customisation buttons. securitybreach
Oh, so no real config tips to get the game working? You mentioned flatpak not working and then came back to say that it was not working so I was wondering if you did anything.
abarbarian
Oh, so no real config tips to get the game working? You mentioned flatpak not working and then came back to say that it was not working so I was wondering if you did anything. The flatpak installed ok as I mentioned but the graphics were bolcky. So that was what I made changes to in the Options menu. I am having fun playing it.
