sloppyslacker
Would like to expand my wifes choice of fonts in her Vector 5.8 install. How might I go about doing this?
zlim
found this in the VL forum. to add *.ttf fonts, you must:1.copy the new fonts to /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/or whatever what your ttf font path is ( see /etc/X11/xorg.conf section Files> font path)2. run the following as root:fc-cache -vf and thats it. Urmas
How do you install MS TrueType Fonts in Slackware?
Bruno
The solution Liz posted is correct: to add *.ttf fonts, you must:1.copy the new fonts to /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/or whatever what your ttf font path is ( see /etc/X11/xorg.conf section Files> font path)2. run the following as root:fc-cache -vf and thats it. Only for the path to the fonts I am not sure . . . on an older version of VL the path is /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/ . . so you might want to check on your install. Also, instead of running "fc-cache -vf" you can aslo simply reboot ;) Bruno
