How to install extra fonts in Vector Linux 5.8

found this in the VL forum.

to add *.ttf fonts,you must:1.copy the new fonts to /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/or whatever what your ttf font path is ( see /etc/X11/xorg.conf section Files> font path)2. run the following as root:
fc-cache -vf

and thats it.

The solution Liz posted is correct:

Only for the path to the fonts I am not sure . . . on an older version of VL the path is /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/ . . so you might want to check on your install.Also, instead of running "fc-cache -vf" you can aslo simply reboot ;)B) Bruno
