Guest ComputerBob
Yikes, that's scary stuff! Sorry to hear about your problem. You didn't say whether your drive was FAT32 or NTFS. but WebAttack has several commercial data recovery applications -- some of them include a free trial:http://www.webattack.com/Shareware/system/...arecovery.shtmlThey also have a few freeware data recovery applications:http://www.webattack.com/Freeware/system/f...arecovery.shtmlI hope you can find one that solves your problem quickly! Peachy
Use ptedit from the Partition Magic boot disk. Look at your partitions and check that they have the correct partition type and the sizes are correct. Your data is still there, but the MBR may no longer be correct. Guest ThunderRiver
If you know how to use Linux, you could get Knoppix from http://www.knoppix.net/ Boot Knoppix off the CD, and then mount the partitions either FAT32 or NTFS, and then try to move all the files from the faulty partitions to a new one. Please keep in mind that it is very very risky to copy files to NTFS partitions because the Write feature is not very reliable. I would suggest you copy all your files to a FAT32 partitions.
