Peachy
Panther - Port of Windows NT Win32 core to run on top of Cougar. Subsequently abandoned and replaced with Chicago Cougar - 32-bit protect-mode MS-DOS kernel. Planned to serve as the kernel for major Windows release (see No Name Cat). Subsequently merged with Jaguar and Stimpy (but not Panther) to become Chicago. Jaguar - Retail implementation of Cougar (DOS 7.00). Major features included more powerful and consistent command-line options, improved NLS support, Flash Memory Filesystem, etc. Subsequently merged with Cougar and Stimpy (but not Panther) to become Chicago. For those who don't know, Chicago was the code name for Windows 95.Hmm, do you think Apple's programmers were spying on Microsoft? SonicDragon
But I remember reading somewhere that it wont be released till late 2005.Humm humm humm. So i take it they are not releasing it when they unveil it? I'm very seriously thinking about getting a one of those new power books. If tiger will be out late june, early july, i think i can wait. But late 2005 is definately too long to wait.Has anyone else heard anything about the due date?
Arena2045
I do not remember where I read it, but it is VERY unlikely that we will see "Tiger" this year. It was sometime before Panther was released to the public... So, if you are planning on getting a system, and want to wait to hear what comes out of WWDC, then thats cool, but I doubt "Tiger" will be out this year. SonicDragon
Thanks for the article. I can't wait for Apple's WWDC! I want to see Tiger! And I REALLY want to see the G5 PowerBook... nothing but hope to back that up though. Wouldn't that be such a pleasant surprize?
