According to the dmesg output one day after some updates I encountered the above error message.Seeing such a thing is one, getting rid of it is two, and solving it is three.The problem lies in the Avahi package ( http://www.avahi.org ), see:http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:8ZEwy...lient=firefox-aThe error message may appear in these distros among others:Debiangoogle around a bit and seeSuSE/OpenSuSEhttps://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222225http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/20...1/msg08515.htmlFedorahttps://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=219269https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=219764The workaround I used on Fedora Core 6 which lead to the disappearing of the error message:Grahical way:Open up KDE > System > Kuser User Manager.Your root password will be asked, type it in.The KDE User Manager will open : in there switch to tab Groups.In the Icon bar above click Add : the 'Group Properties-kuser' window will open.In the Group Number field should be 501. In the Group name field type 'netdev'(without the quotes).Click the OK button.Still on the Groups button tab scroll down until you see ; GID 501, Group name netdev.If that's OK dismiss the KDE User Manager window.Reboot the machine and watch the output scrolling by very close ***... the error message will be gone.CLI way: (basically the same as above but starting from command line)

$ su$ password# system-config-users...#exit$exit

*** = in runlevel 3. Otherwise either switch to that or have a look in dmesg.
