Blinky,First of all, Welcome to the Forums! B) I'm sure you'll enjoy it here...I moved this topic into the Firebird sub-forum... if you have any Firebird (or Mozilla questions), you can post them in here. :)As far as your page fault goes, I've never run into that myself. Interesting problem...What I would do is delete the Firebird folder, and reinstall it using the installer you can find here. (This is for the milestone version)... If you're using a different version, let me know...After you delete the Firebird folder from your desktop, run the installer and see if that works for you... The nice part about this installer is that it will automatically create shortcuts for you (if you want)...Hope this helps! :DP.S. Your problem might be from a corrupted download... This is why I suggest re-downloading it .

Since you're just starting out in Firebird (I assume you haven't done much with it yet) I would try this if the above doesn't work.Browse to C:\Windows\Application Data\phoenix\Profiles\default and rename the .slt to .slt.old and then see if Firebird will boot up... The folder we're renaming is your profile folder, and since you haven't done anything with Firebird yet, you won't lose any settings :)Then try to restart Firebird and it should ask you to create a new profile...

Have you run Windows Update? You might want to make sure everything is up-to-date here if it isn't already... Looking through the forums, I've seen a few people that have issues with Firebird and Win98... anyone else around here experienced any problems???

Okay... found some threads on the Firebird forums that might help...If you go to the C:\Windows\Application Data\phoenix\Profiles\default\xxxxxx.slt folder, there should be a prefs.js file...Right click on that file and select Edit (it should bring it up in Notepad)This is what you should see

 # Mozilla User Preferences/* Do not edit this file.** If you make changes to this file while the browser is running,* the changes will be overridden when the browser exits.** To make a manual change to preferences, you can visit the URL about:config* For more information, see http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefs*/

You need to add this line (just copy and paste) to the end of that file

 user_pref("browser.bookmarks.added_static_root", true);

Just save the file and then start up FirebirdThat has seemed to fix the problem for many people B)
