Did you select ACPI during the install? That's one of Linux's shortcomings - power management, or lack thereof.

Yeah that's one of the reason why I rarely install Linux on laptop. I don't trust its power management.. god knows if it will know if my battery is depleted.

StryderHelas, you can only put your monitor in standby, they are working on it but have not got it right yet, that´s why it is not included in the software !Mayby next version 9.2 that will come in 6 month or so.;) Bruno
